Welcome to the UCSB Data Science Capstone Preparation Workshop!

This is the Summer 2021 Edition of the UCSB Data Science Capstone Preparation Workshop. This workshop is enabled by the NSF Grant 1924205.

We aim to give you an overview of the topics that we expect you to be familiar with. Use these notes and feel free to look up unfamiliar terms to fill-in any gaps or review some of these concepts.

Below is a list of topics we’d like you to review:

• A Tour of Python libraries: Scikit-learn and statsmodels in action
• Thinking critically about numerical results: inference and interpretation in action
